Camp Runamucka

When Joel and I got back from our long drive we had less than 24 hours to unpack, wash laundry, and pack again before heading out for a weekend camping trip with our homeschool group. We had a great turnout and lots of fun. This was Joel’s first camping outing and our first one to try our air mattress and Joel’s portable play pod. This was the third time we’ve had our large (circus) tent out and have been happy with it every time. We can almost put it together in the near dark with just the two of us. 😉 Our tent nicely fit the queen sized mattress, pack and play, and the two kids sleeping bags with room to walk and maneuver! Joel did really well and slept most of the night the same as he would at home so that made everyone much happier during the day.
We mostly hung out and played around the camp site. The whole group headed over to a swimming hole to cool off, we enjoyed some s’mores and told stories around the fire, and I introduced my kids to the marshmallow game Chubby Bunny. 🙂
Hannah enjoyed learning about hammocks and finding tadpoles and frogs in the evenings. She also found a cool little ground squirrel skull, but unfortunately it got stepped on and squashed so it didn’t make it home.
We also celebrated our 12th anniversary by spending the morning breaking camp and heading home!
