Idaho Trip

We had such a fun time seeing family these past two weeks. All the photos are here. There are a lot, 9 albums and some extras. Enjoy!

Myself, the kids, and Gram and PawPaw packed into their new car and took a leisurely 4 day trip across the country from Waco, TX to Coeur d’Alene, ID. 😉 We actually had a nice amount of room due to being able to borrow a luggage rack for the back. Daddy had a week in CA for work while we were traveling.

On our way, we had many bathroom breaks, stops to play at playgrounds, picked fun hotels with water slides or pools, and ate yummy eats. We also got to stop in on the CO Moehrings one evening. It was a quick trip but lots of fun!

Once we got there, we checked into our place at Stoneridge Resort. It was a nice little timeshare with a wonderful rec center, mini golf, and quite a few scheduled activities. It allowed us to have a bit of a ‘vacation’ while still close enough to visit the ID Moehring household. Translation, it let us get out of their hair since the kids all still had a ton of school and other activities to keep them busy and we got to enjoy the resort in the in between times.

The next night was the big party. We helped get stuff set up and then helped enjoy the festivities to celebrate Josh. Pulled pork, brisket, and TX BBQ sauce. Did I mention we were visiting Idaho?

During our stay we hiked a couple of beautiful hikes. The kids did wonderfully and Joel enjoys the outdoors but has a knack for wanting to go the opposite direction if we put him down. 🙂

We also got to take Abby for a sleepover one night and then she came with us to the only theme park in the area, Silverwood. I think we canvassed that place pretty well. It was a good down day to go! Joel isn’t quite sure about rides yet, but we figured it would be good practice for his upcoming plane trip home.

Then, as usually happens, I had to take Joel to Urgent Care for croup and ear infection. And it just happened to be the same night as Josh’s graduation. Life! Nate dropped us off and went to grad with the olders. I managed to make it in time to hear the important stuff and watch him walk. Woohoo! Congratulations!

We got to visit Farragut Park where Glenn and Pat have spent the last 5 summers park hosting. They took us all around and showed off their favorite places. Then we toured MAC Physical Therapy (Shawn and Kim’s clinic) and see what all the hype is about as well as get some informal advice from the master therapist himself for each of our aches and pains.

Benjamin was going to miss his end of year party with our homeschool group to promote out of kindergarten so we had a little mini celebration for him. He acted shy, but I’m pretty sure he enjoyed it.

And, just like that, the fun ended. Joel got to go on his first plane trip and I think he did great. We managed to get through the airport with all the kids and their gear on time. So, we did great too.

What a blessing! Ben has already declared that we will be back for Grace’s graduation. I hope he is saving up for that.
