- We are still searching and deciding what ministries to be involved with at our new church, East Valley Bible.
- Project 6:8, based on Micah 6:8, is a new ministry aimed at finding homes for all the eligible foster children in Arizona. Nate and I are determining how we can best serve this new community.
- We are now foster care certified in the state of Arizona!! We will be providing short-term respite care during the summer and possibly taking in a foster child in the fall. We believe this is where God has been calling us to devote our time and attention. Many prayers needed in this area as we go forward.
Ministries we are involved with currently:
Wonderful ministries we have been involved with in the past:
- ACES - Accepted Connected Empowered and Sent - a 20s and 30s ministry at
Community Church of Joy in Glendale, Arizona. We have monthly
service events (usually feeding the homeless in downtown Phoenix or working with Habitat for Humanity), social
events (parties and outings), and a monthly gathering of all the small groups. We currently run three small
groups, as well as interact with two more.
Nate and I lead one of the small groups and help coordinate the monthly events.
- Mission 1:27 at Community Church of Joy is a ministry for
orphans. The name is based on the bible verse James 1:27. We have monthly meetings to gather as a team
and organize events. November is National Adoption Month.
Nate heads up the area called Short Term Hosting and we are planning a hosting event for children from Ukraine in Spring of 2007.
Becca works with the Foster Care agencies and tries to promote fostering in our church and community.

Aggie Lutherans
Beginning Fall 2001, Nate and Becca became involved in Aggie Lutherans, ELCA Lutheran Campus Ministry for Texas A&M University. This is a great group of faithful college students. We came together once a week to have fellowship and talk about issues of faith.- Nate served as Vice President and Becca served as Secretary for the 2002/2003 school year.
- Rebecca served as President during the 04-05 school year.
-
The Source
Rebecca and some other Aggies got together one day and tried to figure out what they had been missing from traditional services and began the process of starting a contemporary or alternative worship service at Peace. The Source was the result. Nate and Becca were both very involved with this service and grew tremendously through this experience.
-
YARPs
Outside of school, we did a lot of volunteer youth ministry with a
group called YARPs. This is an awesome collection of college age students across Texas who give their time
and energy to serve God and bring the love of Christ to everyone they meet.

Lutheran Camp Chrysalis
Nate and Becca have both worked here!
- Coalition for Life Our views on abortion. . . and what we do to try to help.
