This is a good level for Ginny. She still needs a bit of practice on her listening skills.<\/p>\n<p>Ginny has been learning how to follow along as the others read during devotions out of her own bible in the morning with Hannah&#8217;s bible readings. Then for Core A there is an assigned children\u2019s bible reading from Ergermeier&#8217;s bible. She is also doing a weekly memory verse for school and a monthly one for Girl&#8217;s Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>We have\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Usborne Children\u2019s Encyclopedia<\/span>\u00a0as our main spine. We are also working through\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Living Long Ago<\/span>. We have a missionary story collection called\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I Heard Good News Today<\/span> that we read a selections from. We also have a daily calendar activity and she fills in the month on the first day so we can add holidays and birthdays to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-17559\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1-300x240.jpg?resize=300%2C240&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1.jpg?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1.jpg?resize=1024%2C819&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1.jpg?resize=768%2C614&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10-1.jpg?w=1500&amp;ssl=1 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Our read alouds this unit were <u>My Father&#8217;s Dragon<\/u>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here&#8217;s A Penny<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mary on Horseback<\/span>, we started\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The House At Pooh Corner<\/span>,\u00a0and selections from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">In Grandma&#8217;s Attic<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Our poetry books are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Llama Who Had No Pajama<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Arnold Lobel Book of Mother Goose<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We are finishing up working through LA1 (weeks 26-32) to give her a good foundation. She has a spelling test each week, grammar, and copywork. She is really good at story telling and creative activities. We have a word list book, I Can Read It, Book 3, a grammar workbook, and a handwriting workbook. During this unit, she read\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Best Trick<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Green Eggs and Ham<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Little Bear<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Cat in the Hat<\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I have Joel and Ginny do science together. We have been working through Science K on a bit of double time. We use <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Discover and Do Science<\/span>\u00a0for our experiments and have a weekly selection from\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">National Geographic\u2019s Little Kids First Big Book of Why<\/span>. During this unit, we also read\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bees and Wasps<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">From Seed to Plant<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Weather<\/span>, and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Magic Schoolbus: Inside a Hurricane<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-17560\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27-300x240.jpg?resize=300%2C240&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27.jpg?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27.jpg?resize=1024%2C819&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27.jpg?resize=768%2C614&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.themoehrings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/27.jpg?w=1500&amp;ssl=1 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>For math, we are finishing up Horizons 2 before moving into Horizons 3. She is filling in some math facts with flash master practice each day.<\/p>\n<p>For extras, we have been very busy with Connections and Active Love Church. The littles are not as good at understanding when they need to be helpers instead of players, but we are working on it. Ginny has been doing well with the karate class as her extra. We had a foster dog named Brownie during this period and she was in charge of feeding her.
