On pregnancy loss remembrance day, I want everyone who has experienced this loss to know that they are not alone. Yes, the grieving process is personal and we all go through it alone, but that doesn’t mean that no one else has experienced what you are going through or that no one can understand. And it doesn’t mean that you have to suffer in silence. The thought that is running through my head is that if someone else knows how you hurt, then you can’t be alone.<\/p>\n

I Know<\/b>
\nI know what it feels like to lose a child
\nI know what it feels like to lose another (and another . . .)
\nI know what it feels like to pick up the pieces of your broken dreams
\nI know the lies that you think about yourself and your body
\nI know the things you want to say or have said to God in anger
\nI know the unfortunate things that people say and I know that they are just trying to help
\nI know that you aren’t going to just ‘get over’ this and ‘move on’
\nI know that you don’t want to talk about it
\nI know that you want to scream it out to all the happy people you see
\nI know that you see pregnant ladies everywhere
\nI know that it hurts long after people stop asking you how you are doing
\nI know that awkward silence in the conversation
\nI know that you think you can’t cry anymore
\nI know what it feels like to be caught off guard by something and just have to sit down and cry all over again
\nI know that . . .
\nThis wasn’t in God’s ‘will’ (Matthew 18:14)
\nGod knows our future (Jer 29:11)
\nGod knows how to work our situation for good (Rom 8:28)
\nGod knows how to turn our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11)
\nGod knows because he lost a child too (John 3:16)
\nI know that it isn’t easy, but you can learn to live again one small step at a time
\nI know that you are not alone, because I’ve been there!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
