Trying to learn about estate planning and trusts (and figure out what we need). Doesn’t make sense why everyone doesn’t do trusts – since it appears to be a way to get out of quite a bit of taxes due by your heirs, but it also seems stupid to me that our crazy world needs things like this.

Cassie W Definitely get one. Your will, living will and tax impacts for your family if it is ever needed all get handled. Then move your bank accounts and house titles to the name of the trust
Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring Yeah, we already had the wills and power of attorneys and other stuff, just the whole idea of a trust is annoying. So far I haven’t really seen any cons to trusts other than the hassle of setting them up.
