Moehring February Update

Well, the last time we wrote, Benjamin was turning 1. Now, he’s 15 months and Hannah is 3!

Benjamin’s 15 month well visit was today. He’s 60th percentile for weight and height and 80th for head circumference. He’s very active, loves to climb on things, and throws everything he touches. We’re working on trying to only throw balls. He’s starting to say a few words, ma-ma, da-da, and bye-bye (and no). He signs a few things too, drink/milk, more, please. He cracks us up because he makes noise almost constantly, razzes his lips or clicks his tongue.

We started a preschool program for Hannah because she wanted to learn how to write her letters and I figured I better teach her the right way from the beginning. We go at her pace, if she wants to do school we do a worksheet or read a book from our list and if she doesn’t we just wait until the next day. So far she wants to do school almost every day. We probably spend 30-60 minutes on it a day spread out.

We took driving trips to Texas for both Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years to see both sides of the family and then Nate’s parents came back with us in January to watch the kids for a week while our nanny was on vacation. We recently did a weekend trip to see some friends north of LA and we’re trying to line up a trip in March.

Nate and Becca play volleyball once a week and sometimes attempt to go on a date. 🙂 Becca is now teaching Sunday school each week and Nate’s on the worship team rotation. Work is still going well for both of us and we feel blessed to be content where we are. We’ve been on the list to get a full time foster placement for over a month. Our agency says it has been slow, which I hope means less children need to be taken out of their homes, not that the state hasn’t been responding to all the calls. We’re waiting patiently for the right child for us.
Congratulations to Becca’s grandparents who are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this month!

We pray this update finds you healthy and happy!
