We went to the Chandler Chuck Wagon Cookoff with our homeschool group to tour 10 authentic 1880s restored chuck wagons and some of their reenacting owners. They had tons of ‘old’ stuff and were excited to show and tell to the kids about all the different items. Coffee grinders, water boiling over an open fire, sour dough starters. One guy was demonstrating branding on a piece of wood. It was over the head of my two, but they enjoyed it until it got close to lunch time. 😉
