In history/social studies, our spine is Journey to the Eastern Hemisphere. She has notebook pages that correspond with it to help remember content. This unit we did a study of Israel and Saudi Arabia and Ginny made falafel for her project. We also read selections from a book called 100 Gateway Cities. She has a timeline and current events assignment at the end of each week. This unit we also read William Carey Obliged to Go

Read Alouds included Daughter of the Mountains and Shadow Spinner. We also have All the Small Poems as our poetry collection.

For math, Ginny is making progress on Horizons 5 this year. We continue to use Prodigy as a supplement.

Language Arts has a regular weekly rhythm. We have a weekly cursive assignment, spelling with Sequential Spelling 2, grammar with Keys to Good Language 6, and vocabulary with Wordly Wise 3000 Book 5. Each week we have a creative writing assignment.

For readers, Ginny read A Beautiful LieHabibi, and Ali and the Golden Eagle.

Our science spine is The Usborne Complete Book of Human Body. Every now and then we have a selection from Food and Nutrition for Every Kid. Ginny also read The Usborne Introduction to Genes and DNA

Ginny has been doing some piano work through a program called Music 360. We are pretty hit or miss on that if she doesn’t get her schoolwork done in a reasonable amount of time. She doesn’t have any other extras right now. She got to watch a lot of basketball between Benjamin and Joel. She helps at Connections and church events. Gram came up for a long visit so she got to go to the zoo and also to the Waco Mammoth site and play lots of games. She attended our Daddy Daughter Dance and all the February birthday parties. She also got to go to CP with Grandpa and Grandma to watch her cousins play basketball and softball for a few days while Benjamin had a basketball tournament.
