We finished in the 3rd week of June, had a little bit of stuff to wrap up, but just getting around to writing it down.
Ginny had a devotional book called The International Cildren’s Bible Field Guide with readings and questions that she finished. She also has bible passages to memorize for school that she recited on Fridays.
In history/social studies, we got halfway through our spine Usborne Encyclopedia 12,000 years of World History and finished The Story of the World: Middle Ages. Every now and then we had a reading from a short book called The Kingdom Strikes Back which we finished. We completed our poetry book called Favorite Poems Old and New. We also had weekly current events assignments and timeline entries. This unit we read I, Juan De Pareja and Master Cornhill.
Readers for this unit were finishing The Beduin’s Gazelle, The Samurai’s Tale, and Shadow of a Bull.
Our language schedule consists of was consistent with spelling with Sequential Spelling 3, grammar with Keys to Good Language 6, vocabulary with Wordly Wise 3000, Book 6, a cursive assignment, and a creative writing assignment each week.
In science, we finished Evolution:The Grand Experiment. Her experiment book was called Chemically Active. We did not like this book and are glad that Joel won’t have to do it.
In math, Ginny finished Horizons 6. She will do supplemental work in Prodigy during the break.
Ginny was done with all her extras by the time we were in this unit. We had an athletic banquet (Ginny got an award for track), Diltz camp, a Girl’s Ministries day camp, the youth taught a kid’s class, LEAD conference and PK retreat, and we went to the zoo with friends. Ginny’s highlight was when she turned 13 and got a phone with cell service. But she also got a kitten at the end of the semester and is busy keeping him alive – his name is Ronald Weasley.
