Pray for TX

Pray for my home town. That bridge on the left is about 40 ft up from the river level. Everyone is working hard to rescue. My family is safe.
Edited to add: New reports out say 26’ rise in 45 minutes in the middle of the night. Crested at almost 30′. That is the “official” report.
We are used to flash floods, but no one has emergency plans for that much that fast.

Heather H Wow. What a stunning comparison. I’m glad you have the before pic. It’s in my head, but putting the two next to each other makes it make sense for those who don’t.
Rebecca I’m hearing reports that arose 30 ft in a little under 2 hours that might be exaggerated but definitely in 6 hours
Melanie new reports out say 26’ in 45 minutes. That is the “official” report.
Melanie T I just read from the mayors speech that a flood warning had been issued by weather service but it was around 1:15 AM. There is no warning system on the river so unless people had their alarms for bad weather on their phones, they wouldn’t know. Or didn’t have time to get out.
Rebecca I worked camp when we had flash flood warnings. We always took everyone up to the main building that was higher than the cabins. But we are used to 8 ft not 30.
Heather it’s not exaggerated. It was 22 feet in 45 minutes. Between 3:45 and 4:45 AM. Then the rest shortly after.
Heather Oops. Yes 26 as Melanie said.
