5th 6 Weeks of 10th Grade

Hannah is staying on track for finishing 10th grade by the end of May. Good thing since we have a pretty busy summer plan. 6 weeks left!

For bible, Hannah uses The Westminster Shorter Catechism as a spine. She is working through The Jesus I Never Knew as a theology book. She has some verses to memorize each week. Hannah is also participating in our church daily reading plan with Bible Project.

Math is Math U See Geometry. She will be finished in a couple of weeks and she is looking forward to a break from math for awhile.

Her spines for history are The Story of ChristianityThe 100 Most Important Events in Christian History, and From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya. We still have timeline and current events on Fridays.

English Literature goes well. This unit she read Jane Eyre, Pilgrim’s Progress, A Parcel of Patterns, and The Screwtape Letters.  She reads from A Child’s Anthology of Poetry for poetry selections each week. She does very well with her creative assignments. She also is continuing her Vocabulary from Classic Roots with book B, Analogies 2,  and Sequential Spelling with book 7.

Science is Apologia Biology. She has a text and suggested reading plan and experiments. She is not enjoying her dissections but seems to enjoy learning interesting facts about the animals she is studying.

Hannah is enrolled in Business Computer Applications and Art Appreciation for dual credit this semester. Updated plans for the summer are Algebra I and Sociology.

Hannah is very much enjoying a bit of freedom with her own vehicle. We’ve had it up to Dallas twice for some recalls and it seems to be driving very well. She takes all the kids with her to Royal Rangers and has been helping us get individuals to some of their activities as well as driving herself to work and babysitting gigs. It is pretty weird when she gets all her stuff together, says “bye mom”, and walks out the door.  She has youth once a week, babysits a couple times a week, leads our worship at church twice a week, and helps with Good News Club on Thursdays. She’ll be starting spring volleyball soon and is planning on helping with the jr hi volleyball camps this summer.
