House Turnover

House turnover lessons learned:
1) I’m really glad the paint people convinced me to get semi-gloss for the walls. I literally mopped the walls of this house as they were dirty and the paint stood the test. Only a couple places need touch-up where the tenant made holes.
2) I need to keep track of paint colors and air filter sizes per house.
3) We are slowly changing our locks to smart locks (which are supposed to be easier to rekey). My locksmith – Nate – thinks this will save us money and, more important, time down the road.
4) Re-staining goes much more quickly than sanding/staining for the first time. And also knowing what I’m doing helps too.
5) Security deposits save the day.
6) Lowes loves me!

Jane D Good advice! I took a screenshot & forwarded it to hubby Dave (he’s not on FB)

    Donna K So do i!

Pat H I keep 2 extra sets (front & back). They get rotated into the empty house as it gets new tenants. Then the old locks go back to rotation when another house gets a new tenant.

Doneane F Lessons learned. Hang in there. It pays off in the long run.
