Hannah is rocking her senior year. She is balancing everything well and even reduced her work hours to make sure she could enjoy this year a little bit.
For bible, we do family devotions after breakfast, a few minutes of journaling, and prayer. Hannah and Benjamin are usually there with us for that but two days a week they head out to MCC right afterwards.
Hannah has World View studies this year. She is only doing ‘history’ with me and the rest of her classes are dual credit. We are reading through The Universe Next Door and our spine is Streams of Civilization I. Both of these books are pretty high level and I’m learning right along with her as we explore existentialism and other world views.
She finished three fall dual credit classed with A’s and this semester she is taking Spanish II, TX Government, Ethics, and a Child Development class. She is planning on being an elementary teacher so the development class could give her a good indication if she is on the right track.
Hannah has an extensive list of extras. Her weekly ones include youth on Tuesdays, Baptist Student Ministries at MCC on Wednesdays, leading Girls Ministries on Wednesdays at Waco First Assembly, and helping with our church worship team. She usually works one or two shifts a week at 3 Spoons for gas money.
During this unit Hannah got to go to lots of Benjamin and Joel basketball games. She helped with two VBS / Day camps at church. We had our church Christmas party and caroling as well as a New Year’s Eve bingo and worship. We had family time in Bandera and in Kerrville/Center Point. The Millers got baptised! Hannah had to buy a new car because her RAV4 died. She is enjoying having a newer model with more bells and whistles. We had a few snow days and got to miss out on a couple days of school due to icy roads at the end of January.
We have plans for the next unit to get a lot of senior stuff done like photos, invitations, and planning parties. She might also need to get her wisdom teeth out. . . more later.
