Glenn and Pat 50th Anniversary

<- Nate and his siblings with his parents!
We had a great trip to Colorado Springs and then Fort Collins to visit with Nate’s family. The main attraction was to celebrate his parents 50th Anniversary, which is actually on September 1st. They mostly wanted to get everyone together in one place and Colorado Springs was where we could all agree on. 🙂 We are currently living in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and Idaho. I had the honor of getting to create an anniversary book for them since I’ve been doing a lot of the ancestry stuff and had most of the necessary materials already.
On the first day, we mostly just had time to have dinner.
On day two, Nate, Shawn, and Josh had a 3 mi run in the morning. He posted about it here. Nate’s Gold and Silver. Then the rest of us got up and going. We were able to take the kids to the resort pools at 10, so we packed them up. We played in the water, played some sand volleyball, and tried not to get sunburned. For the afternoon, PawPaw got us one of the conference rooms at the resort so we could play some card and board games (or make tents with the tablecloths). We then had dinner. For having 17 people, we didn’t have to wait too long to get our table.
Day three included a morning trip to Garden of the Gods to see the rock formations, afternoon family olympic events, and then the anniversary dinner, including worship and presents, cake and sparkling cider.
On day four, the Texas family had to head back to get ready for school and the rest of us headed to the Colorado family’s house to have more hang out time. On the way we stopped at Pike’s Peak to see the sight. It was high! By the time we got home, we settled in, had dinner and showers, and were ready for bed.
On day five, we left H and B with the grandparents in the morning and went on a nice little hike in a nearby park. And it was ‘free day’. Then we had lunch at a little sandwich shop downtown. When we got back, we had a canasta tournament. Nate talks about this in his post too. Dinner of lasagna and salad was yummy!
The next day was time to say good bye and start heading back. Our children are great travelers and we didn’t have too many problems in the car. They spent a lot of time playing Mario and sleeping. We made sure to stay at hotels with pools to wear them out before bed. And of course, it was nice to come home!

Here’s to 50 years of love and ministry and hopefully many more years of playing with my kids!
We love you PawPaw and Gram!
